Bend 6-year-old wanders as mom drinks in bar

BEND, Ore. (AP) Police say a 6-year-old boy who had been left asleep in a car while his mother drank at a Bend bar woke up early Sunday and went looking for her. The security staff at a bar saw him wandering about 1 a.m. and called police. Police jailed the 24-year-old mother on child neglect charges.
